

Of course!

Are the paints safe for my baby?



Yes! All of our materials are non-toxic.

Where does the painting session take place?



We bring the art studio and the clean up to you!

What if I want to make changes to the digital files?



3 digital edits are included in the initial price. A nominal fee is charged for edits beyond that.

How much does it cost?



How do I hang the final piece?



All of our pieces are delivered ready to hang. There is a specifically placed metal bracket installed onto the back of each piece to ensure no hardware is visible once the piece is hung. We’re happy to recommend a qualified installer if needed. You can read more about how to hang your art here!

What is the overall timeframe?



The whole process, from painting to final product in your home, typically takes 4-5 weeks.

Are there any additional fees?



Shipping is not included in our pricing. Shipping is calculated based on the size of your piece and where it is being delivered.

Are my child’s handprints and footprints true to size on the final piece?



No, they are not. Depending on the size of artwork you choose to order, the handprints and footprints will scale accordingly.

Classes

How do I sign up for a class? 



To join an existing class, click the “book now” button on the classes page. To put together a private class please email classes@marked-by.com

When are classes offered? 



Our current open class offerings are listed on the classes page. All other classes at this time are private. If you would like to put together a private class for your child and their peers, please email classes@marked-by.com 

Do I have to commit to a whole semester or can I just drop in?



All of our classes are sold as 8 week sessions. If there are cancellations, drop-ins will become available. We build upon our skills and routines each week and we find the classes become more meaningful when experienced over time.

Will my child get messy?



Well, that depends on the demeanor of your child! By no means do we encourage mess. That being said, we are all about the art-making process and encourage all of our little artists to create freely. We do suggest wearing clothing that you don’t mind getting messy. As we like to say, your child is washable!

What if my child puts materials in their mouth?



All of the materials we use in classes are non-toxic and are sanitized in between classes. We require a caregiver to be with all children during class to ensure that babies are exploring materials in a safe and comfortable manner. All babies bring objects to their mouths and will learn over time what is for play and what is for eating.

My child is only 9 months, is this an appropriate class for him/her?



Our classes are grouped less by age and more by ability. Our younger classes are for crawlers and the older classes are for walkers. With arts-based sensory play, as the babies get older, the materials remain similar but the manner in which the babies engage with them is what changes. We recommend starting our classes around 9 months of age or older.

What is the cancellation policy?



As moms, we wish we could give everyone all the flexibility in the world! However, to ensure we can continue to provide these classes for our little ones, we have to stick to our cancellation policy. All purchases are final. Classes must be cancelled within 24 hours or more to receive a class credit. The class credit must be used within the same semester as it was received. A “no show” will not be refunded or credited towards another class.

Birthday parties & events

How do I book a party?



Fill out our Events & Parties Intake Form and we'll get back to you asap to schedule your event!

What time will your team arrive in relation to our party start time?



We recommend you plan on having the Marked By Magic begin at least 15 minutes after the time you ask your guests to arrive to maximize participation. Our team will arrive 30 minutes before class start time to get set up!

How many teachers will be present for the experience?



We facilitate our experiences at a ratio of 6:1 artists:teachers. Our base packages include 12 artists and 2 teachers. The number of teachers will grow with the number of babies!

If I want a more guided experience for my partygoers, which package do you recommend?



We recommend taking a look at The Standard Package! It is our classic, renowned Marked By You experience complete with painting, sensory, play, seamless transitions, and more! For your little ones who love to move, take a look at the Move & Groove package. A more immersive approach to our sensory experiences full of disco dance parties, guided movement, instrument-making, as well as open-ended exploration of both everyday objects and carefully selected props!

If I want a more open-play feel for my partygoers, which package do you recommend?



We recommend our Open Sensory Play and Open Painting packages! Pure, uninterrupted bliss!

My baby puts everything in their mouth. Are your materials non-toxic?



All of our materials are non-toxic (and washable!) We completely understand that babies will be babies and things will go in the mouth! Please know that all materials are sanitized before each use and carefully selected to avoid any risk.

I want to have my party inside but am concerned about furniture. What preventative measures are taken to protect surroundings?



We totally understand your concern! Our team will come prepared with several clean, large drop cloths which will be used to cover any nearby furniture. The same drop cloths will be used as a base to cover your flooring to keep all surfaces safe!

Are you able to facilitate parties in parks?



Yes! We can absolutely bring the party to the park. Especially in the hottest months, water play can be incorporated into our sensory exploration!

Do you have a host location for parties in NYC?



Yes! We have a stunning space inside of the Zen Buddhist Temple on 63rd St near 3rd Ave. we recommend taking a look at our Just Show Up Package - an exclusive offer just for parties at the temple!

Is a deposit required to reserve my event?



Yes. Once you select your package, we will ask for a 50% deposit to reserve your event on our calendar. This deposit is completely refundable up until 14 days before your event. Once within the 2-week window, the deposit becomes non-refundable, however we will work with you to reschedule your event and apply your deposit to your new booking.

Coloring books

How many pages are in a coloring book?



Our coloring books are 10 pages each.

Can coloring books be longer or shorter than 10 pages?



Yes. Books can be as many pages as you would like. Email hello@marked-by.com for pricing specifications.

What images create the best coloring pages?



Images that are crisp and clear create the best coloring pages. Try to avoid images that have a low resolution, shadows on faces and inconsistent lighting.

Can I order individual coloring pages?



Yes. Individual coloring pages are $5/page.

Can you personalize the cover of my coloring book?



Yes :) We love to make our products as custom as possible! Just let us know what you would like it to say!

What is the turnaround time for a coloring book?



We can get you the PDF of your coloring book within 48 hours of receiving your photos and payment.

What are your shipping fees?



All orders to the US and Canada are charged $7.00 for shipping. Please contact us for international shipping fees.

Can I include a gift note in my coloring book purchase?


